Picture Pages

At the behest of someone far smarter and more gorgeous than me, I thought it opportune to highlight some of my extensive collection of picture posts as sometimes it's rather too easy for them to be lost amongst the more wordy offerings.

MY WORLD
is a collection of more than 600 places and things I've seen and photographed around Hawke's Bay. Sometimes scenic, sometimes quirky but rarely is a person involved. I've learned to look, and see, and appreciate.

SPICE OF LIFE
 - as in "Variety is the Spice of Life" - is a weekly assortment of my work as a photographer with Hawke's Bay Today. Sport, adverts, politicians, scenics, awards, portraits, arty-farty, events, celebrities, accidents and fires and police arresting people, you name it! Some of them the paper never published - the bane of every press photographer's life - and some I just kinda feel connected to because of the things I saw/experienced/heard while at the assignment. ☺

MOVING PICTURES
is a newer series of posts since I've started shooting videos for Hawke's Bay Today. I feature my favourite video for the week (please be patient, they can take a little time to load), plus links to the other videos I've created that week.

Plus there are a few posts that stand out on their own:

SHANGHAI, A CITY OF SURPRISES
is my record (words and pictures) from October 2014 when I visited Shanghai in China as a guest of Air New Zealand for an intense three days of tours, food and culture shock. It was an awesome experience!

ART DECO
in Napier and Hastings is just a visual feast! My annual challenge is to bring back something I haven't seen before ☺ and that's no easy task after more years than I can remember!

SPICE OF LIFE - ROYAL SHOW SPECIAL
Show week is a crazy busy week, finishing up with People's Day (on Hawke's Bay Anniversary) at the Hawke's Bay Royal A&P Show at the Hawke's Bay Showgrounds in Hastings. From a day's work, these were my favourites ☺

TANEKAHA COMES HOME (on Hawke's Bay Today)
I was really lucky to photograph the release of Tanekaha, the 200th kiwi at Maungataniwha in Northern Hawke's Bay. The organisers, Tasti NZ, had also put together a surprise reunion between a mother and her son. And here's a link to Amy Shanks' story in Hawke's Bay Today.

Enjoy ☺
